Hot Corners 2.6

Hot Corners is an application dedicated to the screensavers’ management in the windows’ operating systems. Just installing this software it will be possible, only through the mouse, to run enabling or disabling operations of the screensavers with a command.

Since some years the screensavers are very popular and employed. Now they are instruments that have no particular attention anymore. Thank to Hot Corners, instead, they will become more flexible and useful even for safety aims.

That is to say very soon something about this application’s name. The name Hot Corners came from the fact that the screensaver’s management can be done through some desktop’s areas and, particularly, through the corners. Just clicking on a desktop’s corner when you have to go far away from your personal computer, as an example, you could enable immediately the screensaver or stop it just clicking on one of the other corners.

Hot Corners allows you to set different customized operations. Not only you can decide about the instantaneous activation of the screensaver, but you can put together the screensaver’s start with some other activities. Just as an example you will be able to decide that when you enable the screensaver it even starts the low energy consumption system or the shutting down of the monitor.

Hot Corners thinks even to anyone who, as an example in their office, leaves the personal computer for some minutes. When it happens, because it is supposed to be that you came back very soon, it is not necessary to shut-down the system. But if you install Hot Corners, not only you can start the screensaver, but you can decide that when the mouse will be moved it will appear a window in which you will type the password of you account; without that password you cannot make access to the running applications.

Maybe you are thinking that Hot Corners could only add complications in your daily routine just starting the screensaver even when you don’t want it. Really this application thinks even to the possibility that you unintentionally click on a desktop’s corner, maybe trying to open an icon. That is the reason why you will be able to decide to immediately start the screensaver after the mouse click (or double click if you prefer) or few seconds later. In this last case if the action on the corner has been done unintentionally and unwanted the screensaver will not start because the mouse will be still moving.

Hot Corners requires one of the following operating systems: Windows 98/ Windows ME/ Windows 2000/ Windows XP/ Windows Server 2003/ Windows Vista or one of the Windows NT’s versions.
