Notepad++ is a very small-sized opensource application and very easy to customize. It is an editor and so it is compatible with every programming language but also to the normal text. Moreover its interface, from the buttons to the colours, could be customized.

Notepad++ could be also called Notepad Plus Plus. Inside it you will find:

- a search engine with the “Locate and Replace” button. Every string could be located inside one only single file or in a folder and it could be replaced with another one semi-automatically.

- - an Execute menu, so that you will be able to directly run an application, as an example if you want to try it on a browser;
- 40 different languages support and the possibility to underline their syntax and to customize every kind of languages’ colours or fonts.
- sided windows display. The possibility to show the index of the controls included in the document and to move from a code line to another.
- the possibility to show the hexadecimal code of the document, to put in it bookmarks or lines’ number.

Notepad Plus Plus had TexFX already installed: it is a plug-in which will allow you to clean the html code and to insert special fonts and converting activities. Many other plug-ins will be available on the official website.
