Spambayes is a filter conceived to make you free from the unwanted mail. Surely your e-mail account already have an integrated antispam system but this software, installed on your personal computer, it could help you to avoid the advertising and the unwanted and not useful mail.

Spambayes, as its same name suggests, is based on a technology which uses Bayesian algorithms. These algorithms try to locate the spam messages checking their content, not the mail address or the sourcing IP.

Doing that it will be not necessary to be worried to update it. Clearly in order to be sure of good performances by this application it is necessary that you learn to use it. This kind of training simply consists to mark the spam messages that it can’t identify. Doing that time by time this application will automatically improve its performances.

If you use Microsoft Outlook, Spambayes will be integrated such as a plug-in and it will requires no particular settings. Differently from this situation they will be necessary many different operations. Particularly, through the browser, it will be necessary to set the proxy. Anyway it will be not particularly difficult.
